Academy Conversion

 Tuesday 1st March 2016

As promised I intend to keep you all informed of any major changes which occur in our journey into Academy Status.

The Governing Body discuss our progress towards this goal at every meeting. The process is presently being delayed by the transfer of our land from KCC to the Diocese of Rochester. Complications have come to light regarding the school’s history, when the two Schools were organised separately, under KCC and the Diocese of Rochester. This problem has to be resolved in law before we can convert to Academy Status. We are advised that this process could take a further 12 months to resolve. We continue to have full and frank discussions with the Department for Education,  KCC and the Diocese of Rochester in order to ensure that our school is very high on the agenda when we are able move forward on this issue.

All members of the Governing Body continue to work very closely with the Head Teacher and staff to support the excellent progress being made throughout the school. We monitor the areas for development which are specified in the School Development Plan and take note of the comments made by visiting inspectors and educational advisers.

In so doing all our pupils are foremost in our consideration and discussions . In the meantime we remain under the direction of KCC and the Diocese of Rochester, and I will keep you informed should there be any changes in our school’s status.
